Powers Company

The Powers Company were an adventuring company who were first formed in Eldevar when the majority of its members signed on to a job on offer with the Stormhold Blades house in that city. The group was active throughout Azocar and even to planes beyond the natural world for a period of a handful of years. During that time, they authored exploits that can only be qualified as legendary.  

History

The Powers Company was said to first be formed when numerous members came together in Everland very early in 12 CA. A couple of members of the Stormhold Blades based in that city responded to a new job request posted by the guild. These included an Eldessarn warrior named Trask and a local ranger named Meline. Emissaries from both the local Church of Marha and the local representation of the Cerulean Spire joined them. A group of three hafling friends, also members of the Blades joined them, as did others.  

Exploits of the Powers Co

The Eye of Ba'Lial
The group's first job was to escort a wizard named Melrick Kurran on his journey to city of Westport. The mage was carrying an unknown trinket of much interest with him. Though none of them learned it until some time later, the item in question was one of the fabled Keys of Power; specifically, the Eye of Ba'Lial.   Not surprisingly, the group was almost immediately accosted when they left Everland even though they did so under cover of darkness. The fought their way out of the city and all the way out of the hills to the High Moor swampland to the south. Along the way, a couple more adventurers zoined the large group.   Despite their numbers however, the adventurers were not able to overcome all of the challenges of the infamously dangerous peat bog they found themselves in. The party came across a spellcaster named Ander Avers and his cohort. The wizard feigned an interest in aiding them but instead, he lead them into an ambush. In the fight that ensued, the treacherous wizard was felled and died. However, so did Hreidmaar, the dwarven paladin from the Church of Marha.   Licking their wounds the remaining adventurers journeyed deeper into the Moor. As night fell, a fog arose that made travel quite disorienting. Before long, the large group was lost and became separated. The calamity was further exacerbated by a sudden attack of shadow elves. The group members fought these off but their number became further disoriented and separated by the affair. Before, exhaustion overcame them.   When some of members of the group awoke atop an outcropping overlooking a sunny, southern valley, it took longer for them to come to grips with the fact that they had been transported a long distance across Tasserania than it did to realize their number had been reduced significantly.   The remaining group made their way down into the valley before long and they were quickly reunited with the cleric Drom. They headed into the large city before them which had been identified as Eldesrand, the city of Trask's origin. And it wasn't long with them there before it became apparent some believed they were still carrying the ancient artifact.   It was also not long before they made a new friend; the local wizard Kasarath. With Kas's help and his mentor, Mis Draxella Solaran's guidance, the Powers Company was finally, truthfully born and sent on their way into the dangerous world.
