Duchy of Ron
Toemanshire Midlands
The Duchy of Ron is the central realm of the kingdom of Toemanshire, in the Tinjir region, on the major continent of Ethae. To the northeast is the realm of Kingslan County, with the ruins of Thapoddo standing as the boundary line between the two. The duchy makes up the bulk of the eastern lands of Toemanshire, with the Duchy of Nuna along its western border making up the mass of the kingdom's western lands. On the southern border of the duchy, the March of Walahran stands as a frontier region between the civilized lands of the duchy and the wild deserts beyond.
The Redhand River run through the center of the duchy, with the river flowing from the southwest, north towards the sea. To the north and south of this riverland are the central Areian Peaks. Rocky and dry the southern mountains suffer from the Amber Wastes heat, making the region difficult for any agricultural development. Though arid as well, the northern hills and peaks have the benefit of the cooler winds blowing inland from Tobia's Gulf. Coupling this with seasonal rains makes the northern Areian Peaks habitable.
Once the most populated realm of the kingdom, with many villages and towns dotting the mountains and riverlands, the duchy is depopulated in today. The Orc invasion left most of this towns destroyed or abandon. Their citizens fled or killed. The only town to survive largely intact is Midland. The town's wine production was seen as an asset to the orcs. The town doubled in size, with regards to citizens, during the occupation, as the invaders forced survivors not enslaved into the town. Midland now stands as the default capital of the duchy while the kingdom rebuilds, and the king looks for a new duke to lead the realm. With the kingdom stabilizes after the war, the town's population is reducing as people return to their homes to rebuild or travel away to start anew.
