Feyite
the First Areians
The followers of the Daemon Fey, the Feyites were an offshoot of the Jaraite tribe. They were closely associated with Aterleg, and considered caretakers of the tree along with the Fairy. Of the original people of Aldern it was the Feyite that dwelt closest to the trunk of Aterleg, and later would ascend into Grandfather Tree's branches to dwell among the fairy, to be closer to the Daanan within. It is they that study the Anon (Magic) and advance its use.
Legend says it is the Feyite that develop early alchemy, first with the fermentation of grapes into a simple wine. They will spend much of their time experimenting with mixing materials, organic and inorganic, together to find results. Through these experiments, they are known to have created an elixir, Gishtil, that extends their lives beyond the natural limits of the daemon. This elixir changes the Feyite, changing their hair to red. In essence creating the red hair gene of future generations. A legend, though there is no recorded evidence, claims that more than half the Feyites didn't survive the consuming of Gishtil.
During the Aggelomachy they Feyite ascended into Aterleg's branches to avoid the war. They and the fairy of the tree used the Anon (magic) to create aggressive and carnivorous plants to surround Aterleg and Garden. Of all the warriors and monsters created during the Aggelomachy, these are some of the most long lasting and devastating creations, for both the good and ill of mankind.
After the Aggelomachy
The Feyite remained in the heights of Aterleg after the war, living as they had for centuries, isolated and immortal. They maintained the borders of Garden, preventing any from coming close to the tree, and were said to have studied magic tirelessly. As timed passed, and their community grew, they spread to the other Elder Tree, living among the branches, as their home community in Aterleg had for ages.
Though only a theory by the Jenuwan Order, it is thought that the Feyites evolved over time into something new. The belief is that the combination of the ancient daemon DNA, altered by the magics of the elder trees, and the regular consumption of the life giving Gishtil changed the Feyites with each new generation born into what we now know as elf. How long and how many generations passed before this change was complete is as unknown as much of the 'facts' of the prehistoric periods. True or false, elven lore considers Fey, and the Feyites as the origins of the elves. According to them, the original daemon of the world were actually elves and humans are mutated variations that appeared as their connection to the elder trees diminished. Human scholars of the most ancient world claim the opposite, that the first people were Human, and the elves are an offspring of them, and as stated above, and were mutated into elves by magic and alchemy. The only consensus between them is that they, and the Dwarf people all have the same ancestral parents in the daemon people.
Gilgurth
By the time of the events of Gilgurth the Feyite people had spread to other Elder Trees. Each tree having an established community. If the areian myths have true, these communities were led by children of Fey himself, the Fey'are. The most famous of these were Soun, his wife Tobia, who led the community in elder tree Seblug, and Juhl, who led the community of elder tree Urzan. The leaders of the other elder trees are lost to history.
