Letter from Erasmus
To my Pride and Joy Adelaide,
I hope you never need to read this letter. It is the eve of war, I must fight on behalf of people. They wish to take you to war, but I cannot bear to have my child go. The first and only being I’ve created with heart and soul. My dear, I lay you to sleep, I will return to awaken you once the war has been won. I am sorry I did not tell you. I knew you would wish to intervene and I could not bear it. If you have awakened without me, then enough time has passed for our ancestral home to be safe again. I did not wish for you to awaken during the war, my deepest apologies for putting you in stasis for several years. You hold the power within yourself to change the world, but please know all I want for you is to be happy.
