Durrow
The capital of an independent city state of the same name. The city lies at the opposite end of Crystal Lake from Low Asang with connections to Low Asang by both roads and water. This highland city is located in the uplands just north of the Spine Mountains. The city of 21,000 is home to all of the major races of the north. The city is jointly ruled by King Tomand and his wife Queen Gadara. Gadara is an ethnic Danite and a member of the Zarlite Order. She sponsors the Order's activities in the region and allowed them to take over a ruined castle on the road into the city and rebuild it as a Zalarite Fortress. She sees the fortress as an extra layer of protection from Alyite or Majaran invasion from Zareb. The plateau around Durrow is well watered and consists of excellent farmland broken up by small woods.
Demographics
Perhaps have the city's population is either Northron or Mountaineer Human. The rest of the population is a mix of Corgerians, Dark Corgerians, Danites and half-castes of the latter two groups.
Government
Durrow is an absolute monarchy with the King and Queen exercise their power through six Royal Lieutenants. The Royal Lieutenants exercise powers over the courts, taxation, public works, trade, religion and diplomacy. The King and Queen maintain direct personal control over the military.
Defences
The city is protected on three sides by the lake and the river with a 12' wall for protection. A 20' wall faces the city's open western approach and is further reinforced by a dry moat that can be flooded through a sluice gate on the shore of the lake. The city also boasts a citadel that doubles at the royal palace.
Industry & Trade
Durrow has a reputation for quality stone crafting and iron work.
Infrastructure
The city has extensive docks along Crystal Lake to service both fishing and trade vessels. Coal is mined in mountains directly to the south of the city and is collected at the city to be dispatched by barge. Durrow also controls the road connections between Asang and the rest of the north.

History
The current rulers were put in place with the help of the Zalarite Order. The Order's price was having the new King marry a high ranking Zalarite Office Gadara Enava Lessana.
Architecture
The architecture of Durrow is typical of many northern cities with half-timbered houses of two or three stories packed densely within its walls. The streets are generally paved with cobblestone with a system of drains that flow into the river north of the city.
Climate
Set on high ground on the northern edge of the Spine this area is subject to a harsh winter, but has pleasant, cool summer.
