Often relying on one an other in high stress situations, Kex had continued to impress Shepard as he climbed the ranks of the Honorguard. Having met several years prior, Lilly Martay recognized Marshal Aetius’ growing political aspirations, as well as his clout within the military and Honorguard recognizing him as a strong potential ally they became close. Kex recognizing her unending drive to gain recognition saw her as a useful tool should he ever need Council backing and as such fostered this in to a strong political relationship, yet still never fully trusting Councilor Martay.
