Early Life
Born on Earth near the capital city of Seattle, Jacob Reynolds came from a long military family. Put through some of the best schools in the galaxy Jacob found success early on with his natural intelligence. Struggling to find balance between work and fun Jacob often found himself in trouble. Entering Military prep schools at the age of 16 under pressure from his parents. It was here that Jacob met his best friend Cameron Vec, together the two of them discovered their drive. Constantly competing and pushing each other the pair quickly garnered the attention of the administration. On graduation Jacob and Cameron were both recommended for placement in the elite military academy on Capricorn.
Time in Academy
At the age of 18 Jacob entered the _ Military Academy on Capricorn. Alongside his best friend Cameron Vec, Jacob moved quickly towards placement as an officer. The Commanders recognized his good instincts, and natural charisma and pushed him onto the officer track. Extending his time in the Academy by several years, this extra education led him to his decision to join the ASRO. Followed close behind by Vec, the two quickly proved themselves capable of the duties required of an ASRO. With full officer training under his belt by the time of his graduation at the age of 22 Jacob was made a Lieutenant, and put in command of an ASRO platoon in the First Battalion.
Active Service
Although the first two years of Jacob's service were quiet tensions quietly had been rising in the background. In early 7242 the Separatist uprising on Persephone caught the Empire unprepared, deployed along with the rest of the 1st Battalion it would be the Battle of Persephone where Jacob built his reputation.

Having met only during the Battle of Persephone, Reynolds made a particular impression on Shepard during the battle. Taking command of the scattered Imperial Forces during the Capital Offensive and saving the operation showed the promise Reynolds had as a leader. After the battle Shepard gave Reynolds a substantial promotion and requested he receive special training. Grooming him to take his place as High Commander, Shepard put every resource at Reynolds finger tips and gave him access to situations otherwise barred to him.
History
Having been friends since their days in the academy Reynolds and Vec had been an inseparable team from early on. Recognizing their skill together they were placed in the same unit and continued to hone their skills, and dependence on one another. It was in the Battle of Persephone that Vec showed his ability to dial Reynolds in, and Reynolds showed that he could drive Vec to new heights. When Reynolds received his promotion and special training Vec was brought along as well.
