The Bank of Doreymos
As the sole legal financial body in Doreymos, the Bank of Doreymos functions as both the public and the national bank, as well as the mint for the standard currency used throughout Doreymos. Led by a secretive Board of Directors, this organization is about as opaque as the marble used to build their grand structures peppered throughout the city, and while their mechanics are open to public knowledge, what goes on behind closed doors and much of the history of the organization is secreted away.
Structure
The Bank is owned and run from the top by the Board of Directors, a secretive group of 10 individuals. No one knows who the current members of the Board of Directors are, as they meet remotely in a specially designed board room in the main bank in the 10th district. Directly below them are the District Managers, with 2 assigned to each district, for a total of 18 District Managers. Each of the District Managers has 10 Branch Managers directly under them, except for the 1st and 2nd District Managers, who each have 15 Branch Managers. There are a total of 190 Branch Managers, with each of them managing their own branch in each district, and with one from each of the District Managers co-managing the District Branch. The extra 5 Branch Managers the 1st and 2nd District Managers have co-manage the Grand Bank which is large enough to warrant all the extra hands on deck. Each Branch Manager is in charge of anywhere from 10-20 Peons, who run the basic functions of each bank branch.
Additionally, a small armada of goldsmiths and automata are employed by the Bank, functioning as minters and counterfeit specialists, who are largely in charge of the process of creating new coins to put in to circulation. While technically independently managed, these are directly on the payroll of the bank, meaning that there is little separation of those who make the money and who store the money. The same applies to the mercenaries and loan sharks independently contracted by the bank, who vary in number from week to week but are often directly in the pocket of some higher up.
Culture
The Bank of Doreymos has a rather black-and-white view of the world; you're either the debtor, or the lender. They aim to be the lender in every situation. Owing favors is something to be avoided, and owing money is a cardinal sin to most of the members of the bank. They will freely trade away favors and loans, but as a wise man once said, "In life, the free things are often the most costly." A Banker will always collect, and there is always interest.
Public Agenda
The Bank of Doreymos exists to mint, manage, and lend money to the people of Doreymos, and maintain a stable and consistent economy. They do this by offering their services as bankers, minters, and any other number of financial services, available to all the people in the city.
Assets
171 branches, 8 district branches, 1 grand bank
The Bank of Doreymos has quite a many locations. Spread across the 9 districts, they have 171 branches of varying size, with one larger district branch in each of the districts, totaling 8 district branches. The 10th District, however, contains the Grand Bank in lieu of a district branch, as well as the mint directly adjacent to the bank. Their other assets are too innumerable to count, with their coinage trending well in to the millions spread out across the city, perhaps even bordering on billions. The only ones who know for sure are the Board of Directors.

Economic Ties
The Ember Corps frequently takes out large loans, but also pays them back in a timely manner, meaning that they're a steady source of profit for the Bank. Additionally, as they serve as the guards in many of the districts, the Bank can frequently leverage them to assist them in money-collecting endeavors.
Financial Sovereignty
While the Bank of Doreymos assisted the 4th Embry in their coup d'etat of the 3rd Embry in exchange for becoming the sole managers of financial business for the state and city, relations have been strained as of late. The 4th Embry still relies on their financial support, but King Vero has recently been pushing for tighter regulation of the bank to quell their financial crushing of the impoverished, which has left many higher-ups less than happy with current leadership.
Indifference
The Jhal have a general dislike of the Bank of Doreymos, as they aren't a big fan of their edict of greed, but tolerates them due to their stabilizing influence. The Bank, meanwhile, notes that the Jhal never miss a payment, but rarely take out loans, either.
Financial Rivalry
Between the invention of Electrum as an unregulated market on the Scaleborn College campus and their relative financial independence, the Bank envies their wealth. The dragons of the Scaleborn, meanwhile, are frustrated that the Bank seems so intent on possessing their personal wealth for themselves.
Business Partnership
The Clankbang Foundry loves to take out loans, but due to their shoddy paperwork often forgets to repay them. When they make their payments back, whether by force or by pure luck, they're a profitable business partner, but the Bank of Doreymos still struggles to treat the Foundry with kindness.
Tax Evasion
The Cult of Ikon doesn't pay taxes. The Cult of Ikon doesn't take out loans. They just do whatever they want, and the idea of a semi-political entity in the city who doesn't rely on money thoroughly irks the Bank of Doreymos, which in turn makes the Cult of Ikon happy that the Bank is irked.
Open War
Many of the tribes of the Wasteling Bones despise the Bank of Doreymos almost as much as they hate the 4th Embry. The Bank is far less lenient than the Embry, however, and openly retaliates with mercenary bands against the Bones for attacked shipments and evaded taxes.
War Against Crime
The Bank of Doreymos loves being in control of financial power. The Young Dead, however, very much enjoy wresting that power out of the Bank's cold, dead hands. The Bank keeps pressing on the Young Dead, but to little avail, with those captured often expressing a passing interest in them as more of a game than anything before escaping anyways. Much of the Electrum distribution in the city even stems from the Young Dead, further infuriating the Bank.
