Lycans

The lupine lycans are known as strong hunters and ruthless warriors. Their facial features strongly resemble wolves, with long snouts and stellar hearing and sense of smell. Sometimes called fluffs, dogs, fleabags, and their least favorite, pups. Their fur is typically white, brown, gray, or black, and they have myriad eye colors. They mature around age eight, and typically live around forty years. Their culture centers on strong family and tribal bonds, appropriately called their “pack” when translated to common. Packs have a strict hierarchy, with a dominant lead lycan making decisions for the group. The Lycan language is a mixture of growls, yips, whines, barks, along with other vowel and consonant sounds more akin to other races. Hunting has been a cornerstone of their culture, a fact that Nixalia has leveraged into making them very effective raiders. Raiding is a dangerous business though and, in conjunction with the scarce resources of the far north, their numbers have been declining of late. The future has begun to look uncertain for lycans. Given their propensity to make loyal soldiers and physical gifts, it would seem like a sufficiently convincing power could reasonably get a force of lycans to join their side.
