Saurians
After the drahkai wars for independence the black dragon Tenabrius sought to regain his minions after a fashion, but knew better than to make the same mistake twice. He took a group of captured drahkai warriors and, as the dragon curses are want to do, corrupted and warped them to be wilder, more animalistic and blood thirsty, reverting to something more primal. Thus the saurians were born. Also called lizardfolk, scalies, or coldbloods they are as reviled as orcs or goblins, especially by the drahkai. Saurians are similar in form to drahkai, but trade the more distinctively draconic features for more reptilian ones. Their scales are most commonly green or brown, with rarer black, blue, yellow, and even red variants. Their eyes have vertical slits, and they have forked tongues. Their tails are longer, more slender, and more flexible than drahkai’s helping them to be strong swimmers. Their culture is rustic and tribal, though they have taken to taming the local fauna in their swampy homelands. They speak a crude, more profane version of the drahkai’s Draconic, called Cursed Draconic. But saurians are most famous for their appetites, surpassing even orcs in willingness to consume sapient creatures.
