Eva
The settlement of Eva is a brand new forest elf community and while it is more developed than a human settlement of the same age, it has been created with defense and trade in mind. Unlike the rest of the Tenashi Kingdom, which remains hidden and isolated, Eva was founded alongside the banks of the Efcharistos River intentionally in order to trade and communicate with the human kingdom of Alsona. Although it is only lightly fortified and not meant as a long term settlement, it does signal the elves' new foray into international politics of Emicara.
Demographics
The population of Eva is entirely forest elves with a few dozen forest gnomes. They are also accompanied by a handful of human ambassadors and residents, and even a pair of dwarves who are also allowed to maintain an embassy here. As the primary location for diplomacy with the Tenashi Kingdom, the foreigners present here have no rights under elven law, but are allowed to remain providing that they do not leave the boundaries of the town itself, except when bound to the ferry to Zachari Crossing.
Government
The queen is the direct ruler of the city of Tenashi, and the other communities have their own heads. Each village and town headsman receives their directions from the queen herself for the management of the community, assuming that her direct intervention is required. Most of the time, however, every forest elf community is given ample leeway and freedom of action. Eva is an exception as it is considered a military base above all else, and the leader is an appointed Huntsman of the forest elf army. The Huntsman is responsible for the safety of the elves, and observation of the human and dwarf ambassadors in Eva.
Defences
The primary focus of the town's defenders is mostly upon the ambassadors in residence. The Huntsman of the town ensures that these individuals cannot spy upon or threaten the rest of the Tenashi Kingdom, and remain focused upon ensuring that they do not leave Eva unauthorized. A large wall of thorns otherwise prevents monsters or invaders from easily wandering in, but in the case of war, plans revolve mostly upon a rapid evacuation and abandonment of the ambassadors and their staff.
Infrastructure
Due to the proximity of Eva to the Efcharistos River, the town lacks the amenities of the other forest elf towns, being built primarily upon the forest floor. Although roughly half of the elves do live in the trees, this in complicated by a lack of overhead walk and growth that allows easy passage. Therefore the town square and shops have to be located upon the floor, rather than elsewhere. The homes provided for the humans and dwarves are also created along the ground, though they too have been sculpted by elven magic to form structures, rather than importing more traditional building materials. Similarly built is the ferry dock, which allows a human-run ferry to make the weekly journey to and from the fort at Zachari Crossing.
Assets
Eva is only barely open to outside travelers, providing they are connected with a recognized nation or government. When presented with documents proving their position as official representatives to the Tenashi government, outsiders are welcome to one of the created homes. Otherwise they are forbidden from leaving the Zachari ferry. Those who do receive lodging in Eva must employ an elf to run errands and shop in the marketplace, and only certain items can be bought, as the elves forbid sale of weapons or magical items to any visitors. That said, the items recover include fine foods and spices, beyond those which can be found anywhere else near by, and rivaled only by the plantations of the Bahami Federation.
