Vokda's Blade
Martin is able to create void blades which split apart all that they touch, no matter the material. These can extend from his palm, attach to his forearm or he can carry them as actual swords. These blades are invisible to most people, consisting of void. Only those with void magic can see them. However, Martin can be cut by his own blades, only the hilt or point of contact is safe for him to touch.
Corrust's Aura
He is able to generate explosive orbs of varying sizes which he can hurl in a single direction. These will explode once they make contact. Unlike other auras, Corrust's Aura does not grant the caster immunity or even resistance to this aspect. The caster can even be harmed by their own magic if they are caught up in the blast!
Martin is the right hand man of King Ambrose Syltharis. As teenagers and young adults, Ambrose, Martin and Allen Minx were close friends. Martin has always been and continues to be unfalteringly loyal to Ambrose and Ambrose doesn't hesitate to take advantage of this. Due to this loyalty and his military prowess, he has maintained his position as General of the Infantry Division for decades. He is also referred to as The King's Blade or simply The Blade because of his fierce loyalty and because of his racial magic, Vokda Blade. He is one of the five core members of the The King's Shadows as well and is expected to groom his nephew Euan MacFheargus to eventually replace him.
Martin is the kind of person who respects strength, of body, mind or spirit, and loyalty. He can be particularly harsh and judgemental of those who haven't earned that respect. He is a very difficult person to impress. Allen Minx is one of those people, or at least the man he remembers. He always admired both Allen and Ambrose in regards to their strength, dedication and willpower. Already embittered by Allen's absence for nearly twenty years, Allen's perceived weakness upon returning furthered his disappointment. Despite this bitterness, nostalgia melts the years away as Allen begins working in the interest of the kingdom again alongside him. While skeptical, he and Ambrose hope Allen's intentions are genuine. Allen is also the only warrior who actually scares him.

Appearance
Martin is short, stout and husky but maintains his fitness throughout long military career. His body is scarred by a lifetime of warfare, some of this damage sustained from his own racial magic. His magic form appears on his hands and arms. He has swirling pitch black markings running up to his shoulders but also has bright orange swirling marks mixed with this on his hands.

Background
Martin was originally born into the MacFheargus bandit clan, one of two sons of their chief. This clan has an arrangement with the kingdom which allows them to evade service as well as the kingdom overlooking their smaller operations. In return, the clan would hand over clan members with rare dark racial magic. They clan had a peculiar ability to produce these rare casters when left to themselves. When Martin's father offered him up to the kingdom, he swore revenge--something he later followed up on with satisfaction. He even went so far as to abandon the name his father gave him. Martin became a close friend to both Ambrose and Allen while they were training under the military program and this bond was further strengthened during their service together. Allen and Martin became Ambrose's most trusted and reliable Generals when he ascended the throne and it was the seamless teamwork between he and Allen, along with Ghislaine's guidance, which allowed them to finally conquer Yaxiya.
Martin has had a long and impressive military career, serving from the age of 18 and has yet to retire. His most notable accomplishment was the siege and, in tandem with Allen, victory over the Si Xiang in Yanjing. Yet this accomplishment is marred in his own mind by the losses his closest friend and ally suffered in this same battle. He was mortified by the death of Allen's siblings and how it utterly crushed him. He witnessed the tragedy Allen had experienced, finding Allen lingering with the remains of his siblings afterwards. Martin always regrets letting Allen go through with his reckless plan or not being with him in those moments. He and Ambrose didn't know how to approach Allen after that. It has left him hurt, Allen absent from their lives for twenty years, and unsure of the man Allen has become.
Morality
Martin serves Ambrose without question and without hesitation, no matter the dirty deed. Ambrose earned his respect and admiration in their youth and Martin has never wavered since, fully trusting in Ambrose's decisions and ambition. He used to believe in Allen too but is left uncertain by the drastically different person Allen has become. While he has never questioned Ambrose before, unfolding events following Allen's return may just test his loyalty.
Motivation
Martin is most motivated by Ambrose and the kingdom's expansion. His goals align with Ambrose's ambitions and plans. He believes in the unification of all of Emynea under the Kingdom of Accia, believing everyone deserves the opportunities the kingdom offers, opportunities the kingdom offered him in his youth. In Martin's mind, Ambrose and the King's Shadows are his true family.
Flaws
He cheats on his wife constantly, the both of them despising each other. He is harsh and impossible to please towards his son and many others under him. He follows Ambrose blindly, even when he knows he is wrong, and he can be grossly nationalistic as well as judgemental.
Martin dislikes the social side of politics and is generally very gruff at official events he is required to attend as Marquis. He isn't afraid to voice his judgements and opinions as straightforward as he can get away with--which is a lot. He still has a healthy sense of humor but this humor is generally at the expense of those he dislikes. He doesn't tolerate anyone challenging him or disrespecting the kingdom/the king.
Family
Martin earned station and privilege through his extensive military service. As a "reward" for this, he was pressured into marrying into nobility. This was also encouraged so that he might pass on his rare racial magic. He marries Beatrice Stahlmann in what at first seems like a strong and logical union, receiving the title of Marquis. Beatrice is the sister of Duke Gunther Stahlmann and Duchess Millicent Aquila. They only have one child, Ben, who inherits only his father's aura but doesn't quite live up to his father's impossible standards. Beyond that, Martin and Beatrice hate each other intensely. He does, at least, enjoy his relation to his niece, Martia Aquila. Martia also looks up to her uncle and tries to emulate his values, becoming militaristic before even entering the military. He is less thrilled with his other niece, Andrea Stahlmann, but still respects her strength. It is only his own son he has no respect for.
As Martin is escorting Tia's family to the capital, they have a run in with his old bandit clan. He invokes the arrangement with the kingdom after a failed attempted kidnap. His brother, Hamish, is the new bandit chief and offers up his own son, Euan MacFheargus to protect the clan. Martin takes Euan in, the King hoping to recruit Euan into the King's Shadows after service and perhaps one day replace Martin.
