The importance of the Church in Imperial society cannot be overstated. So, I won't bother. Everyone knows the church - why waste time adding more pointless junk to the already pointless junk that clogs up Archivian libraries? Suffice it to say they are one of the The Three Powers and only accountable to the Queen herself.

Led by the Father Superior and his entourage of Priests and monks that follow him around like a pack of about penguins.
