Malar's Throat

This region outside the walls is Port Nyanzaru's slum district. Two sheer, jungle-draped ridges flank a deep ravine, each covered in ramshackle buildings each built upon the roofs of one another. During the Chultan heavy rains, the runoff from the city pours through the ravine, down from Ubtao's Jaws, the gates between Malar's Throat and the Market Ward. It washes away unattended detritus of the inhabitents, dead animals, and clumsy Chultans alike. Foot bridges of rope and bamboo hang above the ravine, some a hundred feet above the ground.
