The Elven Lover

By Night she sat in wait without a whole   His heart beneath the soil in part with bliss   Her heart agape with ache, it took a tole   The timeless age she lived, dismissed, amiss       Her birth and mores borne an innate hate   But her a man fought freedom 'gainst his own   Kin. Pale and magic flows, they grew irate   She returned the fight for him. Threats, Disown.       All for not the man he left beneath her   Her, left above. Lost as one ever were.
