The People's Monastery

A monastery within Tanghou.

Ranks

Newcomer (White)

Typically found in meditation or cleaning the city.

Apprentice (Cyan)

Once the overseer feels the Newcomer has completed their civil duty, they are promoted to Apprentice. Apprentice level is mostly mental training, and education on the Monastic Beliefs.

Liason (Amber)

Liason is a two part rank. First is physical training. Once the physical training is complete the belt gains a maroon trim. After this stage, the Monk leaves the monastery to help surrounding cities or travel to find people in need. If the monk has performed enough good in the world, the sash gains two cyan stripes.

Master (Maroon)

If the monk chooses to return to the Monastery to train new monks, they gain the rank of Master and the sash becomes maroon.

Ambassador (Prussian)

If the monk chooses to remain in the field, but has satisfied the Overseer with enough help in the world, the sash becomes a deep Prussian blue.

Overseer

The highest rank in the monastery, there is only one of these serving at a time. He does not wear a sash but instead wears a mask painted with all the colours.   The base coat of the mask is Maroon to signify that the Masters who train are the foundation of the Monastery, and without them we would not exist.   The mouth is painted in Prussian Blue to show that the ambassador's speak for the Monetary anywhere they can reach.   The trimming is Amber, to show that the Liaison's and their helpfulness is what encompasses and lines the beliefs of the monetary.   The eyes are encircled with Cyan, to represent the new views of the apprentices and that they should not be shunned for believing differently.   The forehead has a white eye painted on it, to show the overseer leading the newcomers to greatness.
