Fin Clade
The Fin Clade is headed by the Aimilios’, focusing on all things related to movement, pushing the boundaries of mobility when travelling on land, through the sea or in the sky. As the Vedalkens have a natural affinity for water, this Clade specialises in developing magical and mechanical systems for underwater and above water locomotion. Alongside with mechanical systems such as submarines and boats, this includes enchanted fins and propulsion devices that enhance swimming speed and agility, as well as harnessing elemental magic to manipulate water currents for rapid travel. As Vedalkens have an affinity for curiosity and exploration, there has been some focus within this Clade on seeking a way to unlock the secrets of flight through magical means. As of such, it has been leading research in levitation spells and flying constructs that enable sustained flight for both Vedalkens and other creatures. Alongside with learning to traverse land, sea and sky, the members of this clade has been conducting research on terrain adaption technologies and magic. To facilitate movement across the different types of terrain, the Clade has been studying magical devices and spells that provide enhanced mobility and harness transmutation magic. One special item they have been developing is magic boots for traversing rough terrain, levitating platforms for crossing chasms, or even teleportation spells for rapid travel between distant locations. They are also exploring magical terraforming through transmutation spells.
Additionally, this Clade is tasked with managing magical transportation networks, leading to them leveraging their expertise in magical theory and spellcasting to establish a network of teleportation circles and gateways that facilitate rapid travel between key locations on Krynn. They are frequently working with MCG, as this research not only benefits Vedalken society but also promotes trade and collaboration. The Fin Clade currently collaborates with the Guardian Clade on their Krasis projecting, with the two drawing inspiration from both magical and technological sources, exploring ways to enhance the physical capabilities of living organisms. This involves bioengineering techniques to create hybrid new Krasis with enhanced mobility traits, such as aquatic mammals capable of flight or flying insects with underwater propulsion systems. The Fin Clade is working with the Gyre Clade to to explore interdimensional travel, however, the project has only just been started. Both Clades study the interplay between different planes of existence and their magical properties. This involves research into planar conjunctions, ley lines, and other phenomena that affect the flow of magical energy between worlds. Once enough information is gathered, the Fin Clade plans to delve into the study of interdimensional travel as a means of expanding the Vedalkens mobility options. They themselves are specifically researching planar magic, extradimensional spaces, and the creation of magical portals for instantaneous transportation between distant realms.
