Gyre Clade

The Gyre Clade, headed by the Bamadhaj’s, focuses on cyclical patterns and meta magic, delving into the intricate connections between magic and the natural world, seeking to understand the underlying patterns that govern both. Additionally, they favour experimenting with all different kinds of magic and researching the Cataclysm. One example of their research is studying the season cycles and their influence on magical energies. This involves research into spells and rituals that are more potent during specific times of the year and the development of magical devices that harness seasonal magic. They take great interest in lunar and solar influence and the cycles of the moon and sun, as Vedalkens have an affinity for water and tides. Due to this, the Clade studies the effects of lunar phases on magic, exploring how lunar cycles influence spellcasting, lycanthropy, and other magical phenomena. Recently, the Gyre Clade has taken some interest in researching spells and artifacts that manipulate time itself. These include spells for hastening or slowing the passage of time, as well as magical devices that allow for limited time travel or precognition. Additionally, the Clade explores the concept of harmonic resonance and its relationship to magic. This involves experiments with sound, light, and other forms of energy to uncover hidden connections between magic and the natural world. The Clade has a heavy focus on metamagic - the art of altering and enhancing spells through sheer force of will. This involves research into new metamagic feats, techniques for manipulating spellcasting mechanics, and the creation of magical items that augment spellcasting abilities. They currently work in partnership with numerous sorcerers across Ansalon as their magic is considered (mostly) natural.

The Gyre Clade is currently collaborating with the Hull Clade to develop rituals and ceremonies that harness the the power of cyclical patterns to enhance spellcasting. These rituals are being tested when tied to specific natural events, such as lunar eclipses or solstices, and involve intricate magical diagrams, incantations, and offerings to the spirits of Krynn. Recently, with the return of Clerics, there are talks of hiring clerics to test divine beliefs and events with this research. This research is considered vital to the growth of Cnidaria and keeping it safe as magic returns to Krynn.
