Palikari/Vedalken Clades
The Clades are the backbone of Vedalken society - Where other cultures are divided by species, caste, or role, within Vedalken Society, members are divided by Clade. A Clade is a group that's focused on a specific aspect of the Combine or project.
Structure
The hierarchy within the Clades below:
I. Speaker of Spirits – Cairo Xanderreef.
II. Rank 4: Clade Leader – Relevant Clade Aristocrat (From Highest to Lowest Ranking). The Aristocrats are all Clade Leaders, with 2 being the max per Clade.
- Cairo Xanderreef, Hull Clade.
- Florence Galeno, Guardian Clade.
- Drey & Zahir Aimilios, Fin Clade.
- Dresden & Hyde Bamadhaj, Gyre Clade.
- Nero Sapienti, Crypsis Clade.
- Drystan & Cadoc Govindaram, Independent Research Clade.
III. Rank 3: Project Leader – Proven Researcher who oversee their own Projects. Supervisors. Must have been a Rank 2 Researcher prior to this.
IV. Special Role: Luminary – Hybrids, Deepsages or other non-scientist folk can be entrusted with leadership of guerilla or espionage missions. They can also be teachers.
V. Rank 2: Researcher – Individuals Eligible to lead their own experiments related to the Clades primary focus. Project Leaders will ensure your research is contributing to the immediate objective.
VI. Rank 1: Technician and Field Researcher – The beginning. ‘The Independence Clade’. Focused on independent research in all areas outside of the other clades.
Public Agenda
Vedalkens carry the belief that all is futile and imperfect. However, they rejoice in this fact. “Every imperfection is a chance for improvement, whether it’s in law or in science, and progress is an endless march toward a state perfection that might never be reached. This leads the Vedalken to pursue their work with delighted enthusiasm, never deterred by setbacks and excited by every opportunity for improvement.”
Vedalken researchers tend to have 2 principles they follow to base their work off of. The Holdfast Principle and the Upwelling Principle. The Holdfast Principle advises members to never stray so far from nature that they become adrift. It espouses the idea that nature left undisturbed will evolve to toward adaptive traits and increased strength. Nature will flourish and grow, and every creature will find its proper niche in the ecosystem where it can thrive. The Upwelling Principle l advocates that the new and enlivened should replace the old and depleted in an unending cycle, bringing constant refreshment and renewal. It accounts for the Clade’s analytical bent and its emphasis on knowledge as a means of transformation. In summary, the Holdfast Principle encourages Vedalkens to promote nature, the Upwelling Principle urges them to perfect nature.
