Independent Research Clade
The Independence Clade is the most general Clade and is ran by the Govindarams, Members of this Clade engage in interdisciplinary research that spans multiple fields of study. This could involve combining magical theory with scientific principles, exploring the intersections between different schools of magic, or applying magical techniques to solve real-world problems. Additionally, the Independence Clade facilitates the uncovering of ancient ruins, finding new areas, and cataloguing undiscovered species. This involves underwater exploration, aerial surveys, and expeditions to remote corners of the world in search of hidden knowledge. The Clade also manages integrating magic into everyday life and balancing it. They support other Clades with the development of magical devices, enchanted artifacts, and new applications for existing magical techniques. They study the history, customs, and traditions of different races and civilisations. This includes fieldwork, archival research, and diplomatic outreach to establish contacts with other cultures. Alongside with this, they enjoy learning about sustainability, researching ecosystems, developing sustainable agricultural practices, and advocating for environmental conservation efforts. One major part of this Clade is their philosophical, ethical and moral research and discussions. These involve debates and discussions on topics such as the ethical implications of certain spells, the rights of magical creatures, and the responsibilities of spellcasters. This does cause some conflict with the Guardian Clade, who are frequently the target of these debates. The final major area of research of the Independence Clade is studying the nature of the multiverse and its various planes of existence, as well as space itself. This involves research into planar cosmology, extraplanar entities, and the mechanics of planar travel. As an extension of this, the Clade does lean into mythology and divine pantheons.
The Independence Clade is the most beginner friendly Clade, as it works with all the Clades and everyday life. Whilst the above mentioned are major areas of interest, this Clade tends to pick up anything the others don’t investigate. Additionally, this Clade hosts monthly opportunities where individuals can apply for research grants and present their own projects. In some cases, the Independence Clade will pick both the individuals and their projects up and integrate them into the Clade.
