Anzai Dynasty
The Anzai Dynasty is one of the Five Dynasties of the Shou Empire, and is its current royal family. The Anzais rule the empire's capital of Seito as well as the vast port city of Ido. The Anzai Dynasty Head is Kazuyuki Anzai.
History
The Anzai Dynasty was founded by Sora Anzai, a First One from which the family has gained divine blood and powers of sorcery. The same divine blood has granted the dynasty other boons, such a characteristic appearance usually involving white or brown hair, as well as immunity to the effects of inbreeding. After the founding of the dynasty, Anzai rulers quickly consolidated power after the Shou-Elvish Wars to found the Shou Empire, which they have ruled periodically since. The Anzai Dynasty has historically been both bitter rivals and long time allies of the Fujiwara Dynasty, the only other of the Five Dynasties with a similarly storied history. In recent times, the Anzai Dynasty has maintained control of the Shou Emprie through the modern Anzai-Fujiwara Alliance, a primary outcome of the Shou Warring States Period.Sword Saints
In the early days of the Shou Empire, the Anzai Dynasty created the position of Sword Saint, a prestigous one-of-a-kind title that signifies both extreme martial talent and an oath to protect the Anzai Dynasty.
