The sign above the Inn's main door is of an unfortunate being impaled.
Inside the main lobby a large stake protrudes from the floor, a small plaque nearby makes the bold claim that this was the actual stake used to impale the Impaler himself, the Emperor Medak.
The Stake is Coranan's largest Inn situated next to the Impaler's Gate overlooking Impaler's Square. It is a popular and busy well run establishment frequented by a diverse range of laborers, travelers, merchants, guards, mercenaries, clergy, and foreigners. Most mornings the Inn also acts as a hiring hall for local laborers, encouraged by half price ale from the innkeeper.
Prices are reasonable, food good quality and the rooms vary from a modest but clean dormitory to good quality private rooms. The Inn has an Ostler to care for any horses.
