The Chamber of Red Domes
The Red Guard provide security for the building and the Senators. The daily changing of the Guard in Caran Square, directly outside the chamber, is a spectacle of military precision.
Alterations
The original Domes were a brilliant bright red made from a now-exhausted deposit of red clay, over the years the color has faded.
Architecture
The Chamber of Red Domes is named for its five reddish-brown domes. Its other notable feature is its great bronze doors are cast with fanciful martial scenes.
The Senate chamber, located under the largest dome contains 3 tiers and is surrounded by alcoves and meeting rooms. A viewing balcony is available for citizens, for a price, although many of the most important sessions are closed.
The west wing houses the kitchen, servants, groundskeepers, and has numerous empty rooms. The east wing contains offices and rooms for the bureaucracy.
