Sewers and Cisterns

Some of the inspiration and details is derived from Colombia Games.

Coranan is built on an elaborate network of water systems, although they are now poorly maintained and generally only used as highways for undesirables.

Sewers system.

This system is in poor condition and only functions well around the eastern, central and southern districts of the city, where the rich and important citizens live or work and the government building such as the Senate reside. It is believed thieves and other criminal elements frequent the sewers, moving among giant rats, dangerous molds, slimes, huge insects and leaches. It is whispered even worse, undead haunt the sewers.

Cistern Systems

A series of natural and man-made reservoirs are scattered under the city. These are not connected to the sewer system, draining excess flood or rainwater and supply generally good quality drinking water to the cities wells and lucky citizens who have access. Paradoxically the western poorest parts of the city are said to have the cleanest cisterns however these are believed to be especially dangerous with few explorers returning from visits, and those that do speak of the undead and other horrifying monsters.

Notable Locations

Arena Cistern

It is said the largest and most dangerous cistern as is found directly under the Pamesani Arena and this is most often associated with the Legend of Jinny Blackteeth, the Hag from below the streets.

Spider Lodge

A small cistern located in the cities northeastern district connected by various accessways. It is said to be plagued by giant spiders and is also a Dead Barasi Points. Residue magical and psionic energies in this chamber enhance Conjuration magic.

Desridaen Shrine

A small well hidden chamber in the center of the cities sewers, dedicated to the God Naveh's weapon-crafter, the twisted elven demigod Desridaen. The walls of the shrine are decorated with white symbolic representations of his 15 legendary blades, forged for the Navean priest-assassins.
