Gossip
“But I must say, it worries me! Attacking the Franks! Don’t you think it is foolish, I say, and terribly dangerous?! King Claudas has never lost a battle! What if the Franks start invading us too, like the Saxons?”
“Wonderful, I say, to help
Praetor Syagrius of Soissons! And by God, the cause is so just! Good for him.”
“The king is attacking the Franks! Well, I’ll say I guess we will see some plunder next year! I hope my husband brings me some of that French ribbon!”
“That’s what it looks like, but can the king be attacking Cornwall! That duke has insulted him by ignoring the summons too often. There can’t be that many Irish raiding his coast!”
“Listen, darlings, the king is just training the new knights with this attack, because there is a new Saxon army pillaging up north. He’ll need veterans next year.”

Royal Court: Decem 16th - 19th
King Uther and Prince Madoc toast each other all winter. Everyone is happy, and the king hands out lavish gifts to his family and household this year.
Now, it is time to get
Duke Gorlois obedient to the king and back in line, or else to remove him from his position.
He has avoided every muster for years and is a bad example to the other barons. The army must go and “convince him to be good” next summer.
Baby Dragons
The Knights of Salisbury are all honored at Court: They were summoned to appear before the king. (Courtly roll)
Prince Madoc tells of the
488 - INVASION OF FRANKLAND with great detail in every respect about the capture of the Frank Duke and his knights. The knights hear how the glories of their actions played out in the battle and the King listens intently. The prince implied that the Siege plan was his and his advisors. The Knights only acted on his orders and performed flawlessly! The Prince goes on about how knights of this caliber of knights should not be tolling away on some farm... in the country...
(he looks to the Earl with a smirk) (
make a loyalty (lord) roll), but leading troops into battle for their King. "Hear! Hear!" The King agrees tapping his sword on the floor. The Prince steps forward clapping his hands, a servant carrying a fine wooden box walks into the room. A hush moves over the great hall, only the footsteps on the servant can be heard. The servant places the box into the hands of the prince, who nods to the boy. The servant bows and backs away to the left of the prince. Madoc turns and sets the box on a stone pedestal; he removes a gold key from his pocket and unlocks the wooden box. He slowly lifts the lid and a glow shine on his face from the box. "The kingdom of
Logres awards each of you a title.
"Step Forward," said the prince directed toward the knights. (Each of the knights step forward and kneels before the king and prince)
"I Prince

"KNOW THIS ALL HERE AND THE REALM OF KING UTHER PENDRAGON. FROM THIS DAY FORWARD THESE KNIGHTS WILL BE KNOWN AS: KNIGHTS OF THE DRAGON" Shouts the Prince in a commanding voice to the court. His father hands his sword to Madoc, he than steps forward toward the group. two other knights step forward to Madoc, holding a large golden jewel embedded bowl it has a golden dragon carved in its sides. (GAIN PASSION: Roll 2d6+6 Loyalty (Pendragon))
"HOLD OUT YOUR RIGHT HAND OUT, PALM UP!"
Each of the knights does and the blade touches ever so lightly and cuts a fine line across his palm. A crimson line appears and the blood pools slowly from the cut and begins to drip into the bowl below.
Sir Nuke of Laverstock
Sir George of Stapleford
Sir Cernunnos
Silus IV
The blood pools in the bowl below each of their hands. Madoc speaks up "With this blood oath each of you have chosen, from this day onward, that Uther Pendragon will be your leader, commander and King, wherever destiny takes Uther, these knights are bound to follow until death."
Madoc removes the badge from the box and dips each in the combined blood of the knights and pins it to the knight's coat. the King stands and everyone in the hall immediately bows, all knights take a knee. He pulls his long sword and shouts. "People of
Logres(Addea.
The Great Hall erupts in cheers! The prince shakes each of the knight's hands (the bloody one), with a grin. Handing them a large wooden mug full of Ale. He salutes the knights and takes a cup of his own and raises it high. "Welcome to the worlds baby dragons!" He pours the liquid down his throat and onto the front of his fine clothes. He throws the wooden mug to the floor with a crash, it splinters to pieces.
Salisbury Court: Decem 25th - 27th
Messangers: The Hearold calls out Sir Clevebald of Idmiston!
- SIR CERNUNNOS: The knights all watch as a frail young knight walks slowly to stand before the Earl. Lord of Idmiston Sir Clevebald, Brother of Sir Cernunnos and steward of Idmiston Manor. He wants to go on record with the Earl that his Brother Sir Cernunnos will be in both steward of Idmiston and charge of his family until his son (3 years old) Clevebald II is old enough to take charge of his inheritance. The Earl looks to Sir Cernunnos..."Do you agree?" he awaits an answer. - NO MATTER THE ANSWER SIR CERNUNNOS WILL ROLL CON (10) CHECK FOR HIS BROTHER HEALTH FOR 489 IF HE FAILS ROLL A 1D12 AND THAT IS THE MONTH YOUR BROTHER WILL DIE. FUBBLE ROLL MEANS YOU BROTHER DIES BEFORE THE MORNING. SUCCESS MEANS YOU BROTHER WILL LIVE ANOTHER YEAR. CRIT ROLL 1D4 HE WILL SURVIVE THAT MANY YEARS. BEFORE HE ROLLS AGAIN.
- SIR NUKE: THE EARL calls for a name change for Sir Nuke from Laverstock (his family name) to (Newton Tony this will allow his heirs to inherit the lands and property of himself and his wife. the council all says "AYE". The Earl asks if the family...

- The Earl looks of the large group of people from Newton Tony, "Sir Hamett, I did not hear an AYE or a NAY from you. do you have any objections to my proclamations?" he said with a questioning face. Sir Hamett steps forward bows to the Earl and Court. "My lord, my dearest brother Collet loved his daughter more than anything in this world, we all know this to be fact. My only question is would he have loved, er...Sir Nuke of Laverstock...No one here would tarnish anyone's "GOOD" name, but I feel it is my privilege for being part of this fine family and due to "Their Good name". I would like it to go on record that Sir Nuke of Laverstock has quite the reputation as a scoundrel and his shady dealings with money lenders, the borrowing of money and prostitutes, any of these things could bring ruin to this family and its fine name."
- The Earl frowns..."Sir Hamett, those are bold scandalous accusations. Do you plan to produce any "Proof" or just hear say." he says with a sharp tone.
- "Your Lord, I didn't think that there was anyone here or in Salisbury that didn't know of his behavior." he looks about the room with a dark smirk. There are a few gasps from the court and a low whisper.
- "Sir Nuke, do you have anything to say about these accusations?" ask the Earl.
(Wait for response)
3. Sir Silus: The Earl calls Sir Silus and his family to the front. He grins at him "I have only one question good sir knight, when are you going to name those boys of yours?" There is a burst of laughter from the crowd of people. The earl smiles on the knight and his family. "all just aside, if they die without a name how will God call them? I know you are not Christian, but our belief says that they must have a name to pass to the next life. Every man is different, and it is your choice at the end of the day, for you are the lord of your manor. So, as you lord i ask you do these boys have names?"
This has been a good year. If prince’ssays, “The Prince will do what he does. It sometimes seems as if kings are exempt from the normal laws of humanity. It’s not our place to question them, no matter how… how iniquitous they may seem. After all, his actions were good for Britain. The plunder will do his empty treasury well, and King Claudas (of Frankland) won’t hate us any more than he already does.”
The Earl Gifts Manors to each of the knights, each 1d6+4 income. Edington is the largest with Village (approx. 400 population) and the most pastures land, the others have standard 150 x 1d4 villages.
