Western Skallen

The Western Skallen are a syndicate branch of the larger Skallen Syndicate based in the Western Hold of Aedrinar. Ran by a figure known only as Forkbeard, the Western Skallen are considered a 'small time' group of the syndicate, dealing mainly in banditry, highway robbery, animal rustling, and mineral theft.

History

The Western Skallen were led by a prominent and lifelong Skallen member named Forkbeard. The group was put under pressure from attacks by The White Will and the hunting down of their strongholds by a Southern Hold army led by Haarold Iceaxe. Forkbeard reported to Doomed 2 Die that several of his other cells had been defeated by the Golden Boar or turned coat to the White Will.
The organization has gone officially underground on Mr Blake's orders with the help of Doomed 2 Die, who negotiated a peace between the syndicate and the golden boar, leaving their captured material assets and their leader, Forkbeard, sacrificing himself for the safety of his gang. Before his death, Forkbeard asked Val to inform Mr Blake that his apprentice, Luvric, would make a good successor when the group rememerged from hiding. 

Dagurssen Cell

A cell of the Western Skallen ran by the Dagurssen brother's went rogue in 1052, 3e, refusing to follow orders to split their treausre and assets and refusing their syndicate leader's emisaries. After a member of this cell overheard some members of Ysgard's Warriors band of five talking about finding treasure at the inn in Kingstones, the Dagurssens ambushed the warriors and killed all of them bar Erika, taking her back to their fortress to torture her for information.

The group later found Doomed 2 Die near their fort, and Calder Dagurssen broken invisibility to take Roach hostage, holding a knife to the young elf's throat, threatening to kill her if the party did not drop their weapons. All of the group complied except for Val, who had entered a trauma response after finding the dead bodies of Skallen and Ysgardian Warriors at the camp where the original ambush occured. When Calder finished counting down, Val finally dropped his weapon and was also taken prisoner.
At the fort, the party revealed their group name and noticed a member of the organization recognised them and looked panicked. This member, Karl Ralthirssen, later revealed he was an agent for The Black Fox. He contacted his organization and was told an 'external' rescue was being arranged. Around the mid-morning, Mr. Blake arrived at the fort to retrieve the party. The entire coutyard were killed by Blake and his companion, Draxix, including Ludric Dagurssen. Blake then freed the party.
The party would go on to discover Erika, and after the warrior briefly mistook them for Skallen, Gallus broke Erika's chains and freed her. Erika embarked on a slaughter of the fort with Val, where it was revealed Val was the 'Butterknife Killer' who murdered several Skallen affiliated members at some point in the past. This caused Erika to recogise Val for a reason yet to be revealed to the greater party, but Erika was calmed by the warlock's explanation of events. The entire guild was slaughtered by the pair, with Shan and Gallus killing a member each.
The cell is officially 'dissolved.' and Mr. Blake disavows the group and claims they were not acting in Skallen interests as a whole.
