Dokage
Circa H89, as workers gathered to build the Pagoda for Hai Masterbrooke, the temporary settlement was referred to as Pagoda no Kage (Shadow of the Pagoda in Shudani) or Pagodakage. Masterbrooke, a descendant of Li Qu parents who didn’t properly understand Shudani, referred to the settlement as Padokage, which was easier to say. When the settlement began to grow and eventually turn into a permanent town, mapmakers adopted his name at first. However, due to misunderstanding or the desire to abbreviate things on the map, it eventually morphed into Dokage.
Despite beginning as a temporary settlement, the large town now houses more than 2,000 residents.
Government
Although it is part of the Northern Province, which is overseen by the Izumi Family, Dokage runs more independently than most settlements in Shudan. Historically the city is overseen by the Inferno, who in modern times has also served as the Regent. The current Inferno and Regent is Rhea Firelocs.Peacekeeping & Military
Dokage runs it's own local policing force, the Right Hand. The town has no military of its own, but benefits from the strength and protection of the Inferno and wizards of Sukorak. When necessary, the Izumi Family can contribute support from the Peace Force or Redwind Wardens also.
