Monsieur Holk Hagan
Holk is a necromancer who seeks forbidden knowledge.
Born in 718 SE to a Ronceauxien knight in the service of the Baron of Mousireux, Holk was a weak and frail boy, whose mother Beanelle doted on him. His father: Monsieur Firek Hagan was on campaign for much of Holk's early childhood, travelling with the Order of the Golden Sword on crusade to destroy the Thualian stronghold of Rekanol, in the valley of Thua. He had three siblings: a younger brother, Manon, and older sister, Elodie, and an older brother Galk.
When his father returned in 730 SE it was clear to him that Holk was not going to be a great warrior, and so, his father arranged for him to study at the Tower of Mages, to become a wizard-knight, a proud tradition in Ronceaux. Holk took better to magic than to swordplay, but still, he didn't fit in well among the other wizard-students. He was more interested in the manipulation of the body than of the elements, and his teachers repeatedly warned him that that way evil lay, and that magic should be used in the way that the Sunlord and the Church approved of.
