Camp Dawn

Description

Several miles outside of the city of Redgaard, Camp Dawn is an expansive, well-fortified military encampment with palisades encircling two hills.

Government

Leadership

While the Beacon is the spiritual authority for the camp's denizens, the Knight-Captain is their chief defender and the leader of their armed forces.

Laws

The settlers live in accordance with the divine mandates of the Sacred Flame. Infractors are made to stand trial in the audience chamber of the Lighthouse.

Inhabitants

Hailing from Elyria, the diverse settlers are all devouts adherents of the Sacred Flame's faith. Some are priests and paladins, others seek new economic opportunities in this foreign land; all strive for a new beginning in a self-sufficient religious enclave in the making.

Factions

Although Camp Dawn is the first of the Candle Colony's settlements, the Flamekeepers welcome travelers from other guilds who seek treatment for delerium contamination.

Knight-Captain Theodore Marshall, the leader of the garrisoned knights.
The Beacon, the leader of the Candle Colony and the clergy.

Locations

On one hill, near the banks of the Drann River, are the Silver Order's command tents and archer towers. On the other hill is the Flamekeepers' in-construction cathedral. The Moths live in simple homes and temporary structures in the valley between the hills.

Society

Religion

Even the least devoted of the settlers follow the teachings of the Church of the Sacred Flame; however, instead of looking for spiritual guidance from the religious leaders back in old Elyria, the people of the Candle Colony instead find direction from their Flamekeeper neighbors and the beloved Beacon.

History

When the Beacon was chosen to lead the settlement mission into Redgaard, the colony first constructed a military encampment under the Knight-Captain's leadership.
