Season 5, Episode 4: "Idle Hands" Report
General Summary
The Dream Team landed at the Idari, earning conditional clearance for Chamas, Nikkost, and Flay. The latter was on the fast track to receive a standard ID, and was promised a meeting with a representative from the Esowath Conservancy before the Culinarium summit.
After catching a feel for the night life -- greatly enhanced by the upcoming festivities -- the group returned to the ship for rest, although Ricardo left the crew to pursue more late-night activities...
In their dreams, the team saw a vision of Chamas and Abelina, and the choices the Lashunta made in their last major combat (see Come With Me). Once awake, the crew examined Chamas' recently-possessed arm, using Carrot's expertise to determine that the tattoo was a transmorgified tome by the Cult of the Elder Mythos. Given that the danger of leaving it alone was lower than opening it, Chamas decided to walk away from the examination, and goaded the crew back into the Rambling Road.
On the Second Avenue, the Dream Team encountered a Sixth Avenue junction right away, resulting in an encounter with a coven of Void Hags -- who recognized the party on sight. After they were vanquished, Lockette dug into their computer, discovering orders and shipment manifests that suggested an upcoming attack on Ezorod.
Then, in a chance encounter with a reasonable creature on the Road, the group met Anemone, a Merfolk hidden away on the planet Zeres. While she was clearly studying something, she was put-off by the party's sudden intrusion and flurry of questions, and politely asked them to leave. While the group did eventually go, awkward energy remained between them, as if their business with Anemone was far from over...
The remaining stops were largely trivial to our powerful heroes, including an insane Witchwyrd in a Verces asylum, a bloody puzzle, some violent Thermatrod wrestlers, and Holg -- the beastial Second Guardian.
After defeating the creature, the crew was awarded Holg's Fangs, along with a number of other treasures gathered up by the Road. Upon returning to the Idari, they found only a few hours had passed, and decided they had more than enough energy to take on the Third Avenue...
