Ba'athorog (BAH-tho-rogg)
Ba'athorog are a type of intelligent being from the otherworld of Azgorach; it is not known whether they are a subspecies or a separate species of their own, as this information was never supplied by Xa'aroch. They were common servants of the Host of Selephise of the Violet Accord during the War of the Six as part of the Azgorach Horde, though by no means the most common type, especially once the warlocks managed to create more supplicant servants of their own rather than relying on summons. All known information is based on the handful that crossed over.
They are notable among other Azgorach for being the more humanoid of the types, and the one with which direct communication was possible due to their capability of vocalized language. They have a seemingly unique ability to psychically and chemically influence other living things of weak constitution. Their most uncanny trait is perhaps their deeply-rooted apathy and remorselessness which, when paired with a strong vein of curiosity, is often a dangerous combination; one warlock described speaking to a Ba'athorog as "looking into a black mirror".
Basic Information
Anatomy
Bipedal. Wedge-shaped head with a crest of bony spurs; gaunt verging on cavernous chest with secondary inner ribcage, long gauge splitting outer ribcage from stomach to sternum; bony spurs on elbows; four-fingered and taloned, elongated hands; three-toed elongated feet, with third 'toe' acting as a spurred heel; elongated forward-bending legs (stifle-jointed hips are large, outward-pointing spurs; lower legs and forearms have long gaps between bones and sinew. Prehensile, fibrous, barbed, leathery 'hair' begins between shoulderblades and tapers to ground.
Genetics and Reproduction
Ba'athorog have six sexes, usually reproducing via a mikahnzoch with genetic material from no less than four. The missing one to two then contribute material during the gestation period, often while being tasked with protecting the mikahnzoch. Due to the growing instability of Azgorach itself, offspring instigated with four or five donors and altered and guarded by the remainder are becoming more common.
A typical gestation period is three (Ithian) years, and the offspring emerges fully developed and capable of surviving on its own. If still present, it is not uncommon for the 'newborn' to kill and eat its fetal guards.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Appear to be solely carnivorous, and adapted for arid climates where water is scarce.
Behaviour
Solitary hunters, but with a strong link to the hive-mind like all Azgorach.
Additional Information
Facial characteristics
Three eyes; one centrally-placed in forehead (3.5"), two higher-placed near front sides of head (4.5"). A pinkish translucent nictitating membrane is present over all three eyes in higher-light conditions and withdraws in dim or dark conditions. Nose is a cartilageless orifice. Bony protrusions along jawline from temple to chin. Large mouth with an excess of teeth, six of which protrude -- front incisors, and two further shorter top incisors halfway along jaw; teeth are black at gum and lighten to white at tip.
Average Intelligence
High
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Psychic control of lesser Azgorach and other weaker-willed human beings; controlled excretion of a spore-like or viscous chemical known as gleld to act as either a poison, awareness-inhibitor, or stimulant (usually aggression). Accomplished vocal mimicry with ventriloquism elements, provided they have touched and entered the consciousness of the individual at least once and for at least a minute -- the longer the contact, the more accurate the mimicry.
Their third, central eye enables them to see rhesal (and Ega) and gleld by default without a conscious connection; in this manner it enables them to alter the composition of their rhesal or gleld as they see fit, though like all skills it requires practice and varies between individuals.
Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms
Eidlish have been known to serve Ba'athorogs' whims when they are not prey.

History
The Ithian War of the Six
Twelve Ba'athorog were part of the Azgorach Horde during the War of the Six, including Xa'aroch, who for the most part was regarded as their leader. They were known as the Seekers. As well as Xa'aroch, they were: Coth, Gar'ir, Frell, Sororith, Xedoch, Niosoroth, Uudrizal, Izgorul, Gneekkoch, Brath'ten, and Moth'tal. They were primarily utilized in the front lines of the Host's formations and the spearheads of any more covert movements, so as to best utilize their skills. For the Widow's Siege in particular, there were none present at the Palace: instead, they had been sent to attack the Pact forces from behind. When the Banishing was proclaimed, the fate of the Seekers was as follows:- Xa'aroch -- last seen on Icalar, presumed living.
- Sororith -- killed in retaliation against the Banishing. Twin to Niosoroth, though unconfirmed as biological.
- Frell -- returned to Azgorach.
- Niosoroth -- killed in retaliation against the Banishing. Twin to Sororith, though unconfirmed as biological.
- Gar'ir -- returned to Azgorach.
- Uudrizal -- returned to Azgorach.
- Xedoch -- hunted and killed post-war.
- Brath'ten -- returned to Azgorach.
- Coth -- returned to Azgorach.
- Gneekkoch -- hunted and killed post-war.
- Moth'tal -- returned to Azgorach.
- Izgorul -- returned to Azgorach.
