Eizunuth Well (EYE-ZUNN-uth)

The Eizunuth Well (or 'the Well') is a wide internal delta-lake at the foot of the southern Creqira in the very north of Icalar, formed from the series of waterfalls that cascade from its mountains known as the Eizunuth Veil. It acts as the root of all rivers in Icalar: from west to east, the Praethin, the Qos (and the Eleqos), the Tubisqu, the Dakpa, and the Laqalney. Iyr has the most coastline of the Well, with Ustraria and Balaqalneyis having small end-portions on the west and east, respectively.   The Well itself is the primary site for the Sehndist tradition of water-seeking but regardless is treated as a holy site for all Icalarans.

Geography

Gaps in the mountains to the south allow for the cascade of at least ten major waterfalls and dozens to hundreds of smaller ones (collectively the Eizunuth Veil) to the lower lands, where they temporarily merge into a wide internal delta-lake at the base of the mountain range known as the Eizunuth Well. The water is narrower, less clear, and stiller at the Well's western and eastern ends.   The deepest portion of the Well is known as the Mother's Bosom, formed by the root of the Praethin, Qos, and Elqos rivers. This is shared by Iyr and and Ustraria and is notable for their collaborative shipbuilding industry based in Iqith on the Western Isle of Iyr.

Natural Resources

Kelaqgux -- a key ingredient of enstreng -- is made from a selection of minerals mined from the Eizunuth Veil and Well. There is an additional niche harvest of rigral, a medium-sized fish whose scales are as valuable as semi-precious stones and the meat seen as a delicacy or devout Sehndist sacrament.
