The Undercity
You take a skiff to get to the entrance to the Undercity. As you get closer, you see the large grate, its metal bars glimmering in the early morning light. Thankfully, the bars are far enough apart and the great is high enough above the ground that the tunnel won't flood, even during a time of high water, but you can enter without too much issue.
Inside, the tunnels themselves are only a dozen handspans or so wide. You have to duck at first to get inside, but then the tunnel gets tall enough that you can wander around without issue. The tunnels smell of rot and dirt, and the dirt beneath your feet gives way with a soft squelch.
Another City Underneath
The Undercity forms the main lair for the city's Drakeling population. When they aren't eating the algae of the city's major canals, they raise their young and sleep here. Two or three of the main caverns in this area are dedicated sleeping quarters, with another large food storage and a couple of more advanced buildings (like rudimentary temples and meeting areas). The Undercity has existed for nearly three hundred years, dating from not long into the Gratic Empire's capture of this region. It has always been instrumental to the continued existence of the drakelings in the city.
