Imaskar
Imaskar is a Nation located in The New World, south of the Ilaruhan River. It has existed in some form or another for over a thousand years and was an enemy of the Archaean Empire throughout its existence. Indeed, the Empire's founder, Archaeus, was a former slave who led a rebellion against Imaskari rule with the assistance of the Old Gods. Following the Empire's collapse as a result of The Plague-Death, Imaskar has sought to reconquer many former imperial territories.
Culture
Little is known of Imaskar other than its evil reputation among Archaeans, but necromancy appears to be an essential part of its culture. According to the emissary, Siamun, nearly all Imaskari are raised as undead following their "first death," though only those of high status are allowed to retain their sentience. Particularly esteemed individuals may even be reanimated more than once, as was the case with Ur-Nahash the "Thrice-Risen." The people of Imaskar worship a single Goddess whose name they are forbidden to speak. Thus, they refer to her by various epithets, including "The Most High," "the Mother," or simply "God." They also revere The Sons to some extent, though it is unclear if these are the actual offspring of their Deity or simply her favored servants.
Demography and Population
Imaskar's population appears to be predominantly Human, though the creatures known as Anakites are believed to have formed a ruling caste at some point in its history. It is unclear whether this is still the case or if the Anakite Race even still exists at present. According to the mercenary, Alba Nasennius, Imaskar is also home to a population of Elves, though this has yet to be confirmed.
