Life Domain

The Life Domain is an Archetype of the Cleric Class available to players during Character Creation. It is the second most common type of Cleric in The Old World, as deities of growth and healing are worshiped by almost every Race. Life Clerics are unmatched in a support role, able to mend wounds and cure disease more easily than any other Combatant, while still maintaining a stout defense against the enemy (see https://www.dndwiki.io/subclasses/life-domain, but note the variant rule detailed below).

Life Clerics channel divine magic to heal their flock in both body and mind. They are capable of closing wounds in mere seconds, banishing disease and madness, and even restoring life to the recently dead. These abilities, understandably, make them popular among common folk and they are often quite skilled at gaining converts to their faith. Many Life Clerics are kind and selfless, using their power to ease the plight of the poor, but others are ruthless mercenaries, extorting money and favors from desperate people in return for life-saving treatment.

Life Clerics are widespread in the Old World and can be found among many of its largest Religions. Most notably, Life is the primary domain of the Elven deity, Corellon Larethian. Many Life Clerics also serve the Halfling goddess, Yondalla, and the noble Dragonborn god, Bahamut. Among the worshipers of Pholtus, Life Clerics are rare, making up only a small fraction of the priesthood in most denominations, though they are more common than War Clerics in the Latian Church.

Life Clerics are subject to the following variant rule:
A Life Cleric may use their "Divine Strike" ability any time they hit a creature with a weapon attack. Once they have used Divine Strike, they may not use it again until the beginning of their next turn.
