Benarden Clan

The Benarden Clan of Colo is a large confederation of families and tribes located in the region of Colo between the Owwenhar and the Glasswater rivers. It is a large territory of more than 6,000 square miles and some 60,000 inhabitants. The territory of the Benarden Clan borders the Dalnyall Clan, the Harsauk Clan, the Ternanauk Clan, the Dalshar Clan and the Gwynauk Clan. It is a land of rolling hills, gentle river valleys and wide plains.   The Benarden people have very close ties with the Dalnyall Clan and have been in a near constant state of war with the neighboring Dalshar Clan for more than 12 years.

Structure

A large association of related tribes and families united under the leadership of the Ryuri Benarden, Flann Benarden.  The seat of government for the clan is in the fortified city of Ardenshold.

Culture

One of the more famous associates of the Benarden Clan resides near the small Village of Owwanul.  She is the Silver Dragon known locally as Agnah.  She lives in the hills near the village and has regular contact with the residents there.  She is much loved by her neighbors and the envy of much of the region.  Agnah's presence is a definite draw to the area, as many scholars come to discuss various topics with the magnificent creature.

Demography and Population

More than 60,000 Human men, women and children belong to the Benarden Clan, and most live along the wide river valleys of the southern and eastern areas of the territory. No significant populations of Halflings or Gnomes live in the territory, and there are no Dwarves or Elves residing here either.

Foreign Relations

The Benarden have very close ties with the Dalnyall Clan but have been in a bloody feud with the Dalshar Clan for more than a decade.  Fighting is routine and deadly along the shared border of the two clan's respective territories with raids for cattle, horses and slaves erupting all spring and summer long.
