Stanlin Aldward is the Briar of Skye in the Barony of Loman Dur. He is a 46-year-old Human that is a very close friend and comrade to the Baron's older brother, Alain am Lomanni, the Briar of Southridge. Stanlin and Alain marched together during the Second Northern War and fought side-by-side for the next two years.

Personal history
Born to a wealthy noble family in Kingrick, Stanlin grew up in the saddle and swinging a sword. He is an exceptional cavalry leader, able to demonstrate riding skills just as easily as swordsmanship or tactics. He and his fellow cavalry knights (Alain am Lomanni among them) won real fame for themselves with their conduct and bravery during the Second Northern War. Stanlin remained on campaign with the army until the bitter end of the war, and aquitted himself as well as anyone else in the effort.
Stanlin tried to take service with the Court at Northridge, but found the pomp and ceremony tedious and distracting. It was then that Lomain am Lomanni, Baron of Loman Dur, offered him a position in his barony as Briar. Knowing Lomain and his family, he accepted without hesitation and has not regretted it since.
