Landyn Kassryx

When Landyn Kassryx was a young man, he was a page of the court of Summerlund. He became close friends and companions with young Varwyn Tarmoore when the young man was Crown Prince of Summerlund. He was knighted by Varwyn’s father for saving Varwyn’s life in a Kobold attack. The two of them became inseparable friends and blood brothers, and Sir Landyn quickly proved to be one of the greatest knights of Summerlund.

When Varwyn was slain by the Witch Queen in 705 SKR, Sir Landyn became King Caudus Tarmoore‘s good right hand. He taught the young king about combat and fought alongside his king in many battles of the Second Witching War. Landyn had been sent by Caudus to give aid to the Eladrin of Tavanion, and so he wasn’t present when the Gristameri forces betrayed Caudus and slew him at the Battle of Blackfields. With Caudus, the last member of House Tarmoore dead, and no clear line of succession, Sir Landyn reluctantly allowed the nobles of Summerlund to crown him king in 709 SKR.

Landyn only held the throne until 711, when he was able to give the crown to House Valmar, distant cousins of the Tarmoores. In return, the Kassryx family was made hereditary rulers of the duchy of Sudrast. They remain so until this day, a tribute to Landyn’s legacy.
