Fox of the Willow Markuen and the omens from the forest

Fox of the Willow Markuen was raised among the wood elves of the Druthain wood. The druids of his tribe teach that all life in the forest is part of a great circle and that everyone serves a purpose and must give back to Existence. Existence representing all of the life force in the forest.   He was guided by a Druid who took him under his wing a noble soul named Quenindal. After Markuen killed a fox on his first hunt he was known thereafter as Fox Markuen. The druid told Markuen of the world beyond the Willows and the people far beyond the green. He told him of adventure and what lay out there. The Druid spoke of a life that Markuen was destined to live the moment he killed the fox. A life of freedom and adventure, friendship and kin. To travel and to bring himself joy. The Druid then told Markuen that his time is done and by sundown his body and soul will be given back to the Fallow. Understanding these ways Markuen honored his mentor and stayed by his side till the end. He took a strand of his grey/white hair and braided it into his own so he could always be along side him on this adventure. After the fade, he gathered his things and traveled into the world to see what it has to offer.   As he traveled west to leave the forest Markuen noticed that he had rarely seen a fox in the wild so he believes that this an omen that he should leave the wood. His ancestors and his tribe all followed these ways, and it’s what’s gotten them this far, but now he knows he must go out into the wider world not only to follow his mentor's dying wish, but to discover what these omens portend.   Markuen traveled briefly with the Fate Bound and helped them to destroy a band of gnolls that had been kidnapping children near the Druthain Wood. He remembered that just as he was about to reach Little Ferry a fox had appeared drawing him back to the wood. There he met Silver Leaf of a rival clan who told him that the Druthain Wood was experiencing many strange occurrences, the gnolls being just one of many. After a night's rest, Markuen decided that he should stay in the wood, so he left the Fate Bound to follow his own path.
