Drugaden Pass

"The throat of Archtun has connected the Elves and Men, as if we were meant to come together for some reason. Perhaps it was carved by the gods themselves for some purpose we've yet to discover"
Drugaden Pass is a region that connects both Roscrea and Evermist that are defined by the Kenbarna Mountains that split Archtun in two. The Empire of Roscrea has always had majority control of the pass, though the High Elves control the eastern extremeties of the pass. The tail end of the capital, Roncore, marks the beginning of the region. The Roscreans have never been comfortable with their capital being so close the Elves, being separated only by the pass. The capital of the region is Elbenkior, which is neither owned by The Empire or the Domain of Daliyar, but instead a conglomeration of Elven and Human culture. It is situated at the eastern end of the Drugaden Pass.

Geography

The region has a large forest named the Tonnes Woods, at its northern border, that slopes down with the Kenbarna Mountains. Hills dot the landscape and small ponds dot the lower elevation of the region. Ruins of past forts and Kenari ruins dot the landscape as well, now home to bandits and wildlife. The historical battlefield of Tethinar Fields resides in the region, being the battlefield of the battle where the tide of the Human-Kenari War shifted in favor of the humans. The hills of the region are often home to ambitous Gfedorts and goblin clans, terrorizing the locals.

Culture

The people of the Drugaden Pass are a hardy and stubborn people, with many in the lumber business, as many lumbermills are found within the Tonnes Woods. The powerful Kinship road runs through the region and serves as an important trade road that leads directly into the King's Road. This has led to the development of the trading settlement named Bois Dunn along the Kinship Road, which also serves as an inspection facility for the Roscrean Military to monitor all who come in.    Within the borders of the Tonnes Woods lay a thriving lumber industry, with most of the lumber going to the ever-growing needs of Roncore. An area of concenrated lumbermills has created the small town of Gonfernor, a local hub for the tillmen to stay in.    The region is also home to Fort Ostrich, which was reduced to rubble due to the elves during the Human-Elven Schism, and serves as a bleak reminder of the tense past between Humans and Elves in the past. Anti-Elven sympathizers sometimes gather and preach sermons against the Elves in the name of Humanism.    The region is believed to be the home of the infamous and illegal Dragon-Blood Railroad, which makes its way into Evermist to distribute the illegal product. The group, The Scalerunners, are believed to operate in the region in order to maintain the underground operation.
