The Weald
The Weald (also known as the Forested Heart of Roscrea) is a densely forest region of Roscrea that spills out from the Hills of Auborn. The region is known for its sprawling, luscious forest that trails along the River Frond. Many emperors in the Empire's history used the region as a hunting ground, and some have even built personal lodging in the forest. It is believed that the Vardux Empire once controlled the Southern Weald at their empire's maximum extent, as several artifacts from them have been found in the southern part of the region. Population and settlements are scarce in the region, but a few notable settlements include the Elven Embassy, and the Hunter's Guild's Castle. There is an ongoing argument if the Weald should become a nature preserve or remain a hearty hunting location.
The Huntsman
The Huntsman is a title given by the Emperor of Roscrea once a year to the winner of the Illustrious Hunt that takes place to see who can find the most game in the Weald. A significant portion of the Huntsman titles are given to the kingdoms of Rialse, Roncria, and Brillis. The greatest Huntsman to ever live is considered to be Emeli Carguld who was given the title in 6786 2E.
