Roncria (Ron-Kree-Ah)

"Elthor yelped at his horse, as it galloped on green, grassy ground, as they traveled up their last hill before they finally arrived at his destination. Elthor stopped his traveling to witness the sight before him. He saw a great city before him, none other like it in the entirety of Wold. In fact, it would be almost an insult to call such a monument to human knowledge, engineering, and history to call such a place a mere city. The city was as tall as it was wide, with the base of the city going on for miles as far as the eye could see. Sprawling villages stood around the main walls of the city, which were easily hundreds upon hundreds of feet tall. The villages gave a wide berth from themselves and the great city walls, being about a mile apart from each other. The walls themselves were made of white stone, marbile, granite, and other white minerals. Large towers divided the walls into sections, and hundreds of Roscrean troops could be seen patrolling the wide walkways that sat atop the walls in between the towers. The towers themselves sported large trebuchets, ready to launch at any given moment.
A massive road led into the main gate of the city, which was surrounded by guards and posts that stood ready to inspect and allow in any that wished to enter the great city. The road had carriages, wagons, horses, amukels, and other animals carrying people to and from the city. They marched in two steady rows, with those leaving the city being on the right, and those entering, on the left.
The city’s buildings were practically sprawling from the walls of the city, as they were quite dense next to each other, barely giving one another any breathing room. The center of the city gradually rose in elevation, and the buildings only became taller and more grandiose the higher the city went. Some buildings and towers stretched so high into the sky that they almost hit the very clouds above.
But all of this paled in comparison to the true jewel of the city, that being the gigantic castle in the center of the city. Like most Roscrean cities, the castle was positioned in the middle of the city, acting as the heart of it all. The castle was connect to the rest of the city by a large arch way, with towers on either ends of it, which led to the castle, with sprawling, spiraling towers that went above even the clouds. The castle reached higher than most mountains in the land, in fact.
One thing that was noticed above all, by any passby traveling the lesser roads to move around the city, was the amount of flags that gustled in the wind. Flags adorned almost every corner of the city, and two major flags were placed on the fronts of each tower, facing the outside of the city. This was no ordinary city that Elthor was witnessing in its glory, however. This was Roncria, capital of the Roscrean Empire." -In a Far Off Land (page 544-545)

Roncria is the capital city of The Roscrean Empire. It sits upon the western edge of the Kenbarna Mountains, northwest of the Drugaden Pass, and South of The Great Plains. It is considered to be the magnum opus of human technology and engineering, as well as the greatest bastion for all of humanity. Here, the emperor rules over the entire empire from his palace. It is said that the city was built to try to replicate the glory of Juthilee, Helifex's capital city in his realm of Ethilbegus.

Demographics

The population of Roncria is vastly human, being the capital of the greatest human empire, however other races make up small minority of the city's population. Around 100000 denizens of Roncria are not human, and most conjugate around the embassies of their race within Roncria.

Government

Roncria is run like an average city in Roscrea, with a bilgram being set in place to run the city and the surrounding land, however, Roncria is a special case, as it houses the emperor of the empire. The Emperor has complete authority to override and commandment or order given by the bilgram of the city.

Defences

Roncria has the best defenses offered in any Roscrean location. The most obvious and perhaps toughest defense, are the outer walls, standing hundreds of feet tall, with a thousand  guards patrolling the upper walkways of the walls. Trebuchets stand at the top of towers that divide the walls into segments. The garrison of Roncria stands about 100000 men strong, and ready to defend the city with their lives. 500 citadel guard also stand guard over the upper levels of the city.

Guilds and Factions

Like any other Roscrean city, Roncria is home to a guild hall, where dozens of guilds hire outsiders to join their guild. Roncria is home to other factions as well, such as The Order of Hidden Blades, and The Great Knight Houses.
