Legacy of the elements

Welcome to the isles of Elementiz. It is said that these isles were created by the powers of the ancient supreme elemental being «Elementiz». Since then the elemental powers have been strong in these lands, and several elemental lords is said to have taken residence. Lately there have been a surge in strange natural occurances, and the peoples of the land is starting to think that the elemental lords are on the brink of war. A war that will shape the land once more, and potentionally force the different kingdoms to war against eachother. War between these kingdoms have been plentyfull, but the war that is coming could be the last. Since the creation of these isles many creatures, races, kingdoms and empires has come and gone. The most prominent of the races today are the orc tribes to the south, the high elves on «The floating lands of Zendolith» to the west, the human kingdom of Gondolin at the center, the thieflings in the burning lands to the north, and the dwarves in the mountains and beneath the ground. But there are many other races living amongst the people of these kingdoms. Since the mysterious shroud appared around 50 years ago no ship has been able to leave or enter the isles of Elementiz. Thousands have tried getting pass, and thousands have died, or dissapared, never to be seen again. What could possibly be the origin of this shroud?
