God's Favored Child
With the relief army coming in, I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to capture the enemy commander. After a quick motion, I was able to restrain the English nobleman and intimidate the English into letting us go. I hope the relief army can handle things out here, with this advantage we've given them!
The army managed to push through the English lines and enter the city, bringing with them supplies and more volunteer soldiers. Among them, another friendly face found in Soren! Worse for wear but still intact. We caught up a bit and he introduced me to the reinforcement's commander, Jehanne la Pucelle. She seems small and weak, but strong in spirit. Her faith and bravery has inspired a large number of people to take up arms and follow her into danger. The last time I saw someone who commanded this much respect might have been King Alexander. Interesting.
When we had a moment, I spoke with the others. I had caught a glimpse of that scrawny rat man we found in Burgundy, I think. If he's working with the English, this may be more complicated.
On the other hand, in a meeting with Captain De Dunois, we took stock of our situation and things are looking up. It looks like we should be able to hold out for a while, especially with our reinforcements and captive. Jehanne proclaimed that we would win the war in one week. I like her optimism, but according to Soren she may actually have divine guidance. It seems even the Christian God plays favorites. I did ask her about taking Geoffroi to the prince after all this is over, and she seemed agreeable.
