Fallen Angel

by Nilus The Immortal

The battle begun with our attacks on both sides of the camp. I quickly decapitated three (two and a half, really) archers in our charge. The men with me also performed admirably. Though as we entered the camp, it seems they moved out sooner than we expected and most of them are missing. I let one man go to make sure the English would learn a healthy dose of fear. The rest who surrendered we killed. With the camp looted and burning, we returned to Orleans victorious! In addition, we received the fortuitous news that forces from Burgandy had abandoned the English army, hence their reduced numbers. Good for them, I say. She deteriorated over a couple of days, and Raghnall and Soren started getting desperate. For some reason they don't want Raghnall to do his thing... Soren ran off and found some kind of plant that might help with surgery, but in the end, the operation killed her. Before she passed, I had whispered in her ear: "Is this the best you've got?" I hoped that she might rise to the challenge, but it seems her God's protection has failed her.

The English forces have diminished even further, and this could be a great opportunity to strike. Jehanne said the war would be over in one week, why not fulfill one last prophecy?

During the week, I also started having strange nightmares. In some, I was powerless and losing. Others, despite all my success, it was like nobody knew me. They came night after night, and seemed too real... I
