A journal entry of Iago - I dreamed a dream

by Iago

At Crowhall we met back up with Lael and Fayal who seemed pretty happy to be back with EW.

As we prepared to head out to Southgaurd on our journey to take the Key, which we believe to be Isi, back to the king, we had a bit of unease, not knowing what exactly the key was for or if it was even her.

As we were leaving, a crazy nut accosts Kathrine with a cock and bull story of how she is a member of the House Brannaford and must head out to reclaim her true place. Crazy or not though, the show of magic in EW's hammer was pretty convincing, Her fan club, of course, is totally on board, but EW seemed a little out of it.

She put so much in to being a Goliath and the Bannaford's aren't. I don't know anything about Goliaths, but Katherine will always be one to me. I told her that, I hope it helped.

When we arrived at Southguard the tone was a bit somber, especially as we brought bad, but incomplete, news from Crowhall. I decided we needed to talk to the king, for further instructions and hopefully some information about the Key. I dropped goody-two-shoes into the King's dream, she said he seemed a bit confused, we didn't get much information, but at least he is forewarned about the dangers and has a chance to get his seers working on the problems of the key and the unknown king Reign before we arrive.

With no more options, the Fates own devil agreed to contact the "traveler"; he reprised an earlier statement assuring us that we have the key: "the key to that which darkenss fears rests in a room in the Ram's Pen".

I will say that I am relieved and somewhat surprised that none of the King's men have tried to kill us to prevent our return. Still there is time for treachery. Another long day of riding tomorrow, and the next and the next.
