Lottie isn't sounding like Lottie...this is a bit disconcerting. She hasn't been acting quite right lately.
[[from GM: You have only been around Lottie's aunt once or twice, but you clearly recognize this as her voice.]]
Someone - Lottie's aunt? a fey-creature? I'm not sure - steps out of a nearby tree. This is getting weirder. I really don't like this. I have no idea who the biggest threat really is or if I have the equipment to do anything about it...
We head back to the resort - apparently Lottie's aunt has an argument to settle with the werejaguars, and we'd just be in the way.
When we get back:
[[from GM: The paperwork for Tono's new identity have been left in your room., along with a short note from Lorkian saying he had to head back north to handle an emergency,. Enjoy the rest of your vacation, and he will see you all when you get back.]]
Daniel has a ransom note - someone has Tono and wants us to just leave, or they'll kill Tono.
We follow the instructions on the note - it includes an itinerary for leaving the country, which we were about ready to do anyway. We did what we came to do (rescue Juan), so it's time to head back home.
Turns out it's Manon's shapeshifting partner who took Tono. He's willing to let us go, but when Lyra walks by, he says something that makes her turn back and attack. It's not difficult to take out the three guards - Tono finds a gun and kills one - but [Rahotan] is another story. He turns into a snake, and Lyra turns into a falcon to catch it. Between my shot, Lyra droping it, and Daniel stabbing it, [Rahotan] is stunned and confused when Lyra swoops down again and kills him by draining him dry...and promptly turns into an albino viper.
As I'm getting on the plane, I realize my phone's buzzing with text messages.
[[from GM: Tried to drop package at resort. Do you have an address for forwarding?]]
I arrange to have it sent to a drop box near New Orleans - it'll cost extra, to get it across the border without trouble, but that's ok. We might need that package later.
Daniel insists that Tono will never touch another gun, and Lottie has already promised to get him one. It doesn't really matter - if he's competent to handle a gun safely and really wants one, I'll get him one. Daniel doesn't have anything to say about it - Tono can keep it with mine until he gets his own place.
[[Tono's new identity: Antonio [needs last name]; legal guardian Zoe Berenice Johnson (Raven's new identity). His birthdate and age haven't been changed (or at least, I used the information he gave me) ; his new papers indicate he's an American citizen.]]
