Act 1 - Burnination and Heresy

A group of travelling adventures was sent to Haversmeet to help the local militia deal with nuisance raids from Strong Bad and his cronies. After winning a rock-off with The Cheat and securing an old but seemingly unremarkable staff, the party defends Haversmeet from an attack by Trogdor and The Brotherhood of Burnination . The staff turns out to be an ancient relic, shielding the party from Trogdor's flames and counter-attacking with enough power to force the dragon's retreat.   After several adventures, the party is tasked by the Arch Magus to retrieve a codex from the Eladrin archive in the sub-levels of the Arcanium . The party discovers that multiple parties have been sent to the depths of the Arcanium, only to be slaughtered or driven insane by the creatures below. They also find several tomes on Elardin history, which explain that the Eladrin were betrayed by several of their own kind. Elvantor, the capital of the Eladrin empire, fell to the human barbarians, which would eventually become the capital city Hadrianus .   While retrieving the codex, Rayuuv has a vision of a female doppelganger, his other self. She tells Rayuuv that they must find each other in this plane of existence and close the rifts, or suffer a terrible calamity. Upon returning to the surface, the party discovers that the Tomb of the Arch Magi is actually cursed - the dead (possibly undead) Arch Magi are being driven insane by some sort of curse, and paladins from the Order of Krom are on constant watch to keep the Arch Magi from getting loose.   While the party was searching for the codex, the Arch Magus disappears, along with several powerful artifacts from the reliquary. Grand Inquistior Dralin Invictus is summoned by the Archbishop to investigate this disappearance and root out any heresy. He charges the party with heresy, and they decide to face the tribunal rather than attempt trial by combat in the arena.   The party successfully defends themselves, and are found not guilty even they choose to openly denounce the emperor. The Emperor demands the the church hand the party over to him to be tried for treason. The tribunal refuses, saying that no man is above Krom's law. The emperor retorts that he is Krom's law, and sends his praetorians to seize the party. A melee breaks out between the praetorians and the paladins from the Order of Krom. The party, with the help of Silas Ursinus , escapes the temple, ultimately making their way to the docks and escaping aboard the sloop Stugatz. They head toward Seras, capital of the Seras Empire , beyond the reach of the Hadrianic emperor. They leave behind a capital city engulfed in flames and rapidly moving toward civil war.

Plot points/Scenes

Casino Heist: the party infiltrated a casino run by The Nine Fingers Gang at the request of Vincenzo DiLuzzio . The party managed to rescue Rayuuv after he was taken captive by security, as well as Angus, a sentient lute.   Shaolin: the party was magically transported to the Shaolin empire in the far east, where they came across a temple under assault by a conglomeration of the Shaolin emperor's soldiers and a group of Yuan-ti.  The party successfully fought off the assault with the help of Master Bruce, a legendary Shaolin monk.  He thanked Anton and the party for their assistance, and told them that he would call upon them sometime in the future.  He opened a portal, sending the party back to Hadrianus.   Slavers: the party assisted Cael the Shaman protect Syllin's Grove from a group of slavers, and then take the fight to the slavers' stronghold. The party was able to rescue a group of captive elves, and a powerful Tiefling simply known as The Child .     The Exiled Wastes: the party swears to a group of dying Djarin that they will return The Child to their encampment in the Exiled Wastes, as she is prophesized to help them return their king to his rightful throne. Along the way the party is quested by the Djarin to kill the white dragon Balthazar , who has been terrorizing the Djarin for several months. Instead of killing the dragon, the party reaches an agreement: Balthazar will leave the Djarin alone in exchange for regular tributes of meat and the addition of one magic item to his hoard. The Djarin agree to the terms after an epic ballad performed by Billy Bob detailing the (completely made up) battle between the party and the dragon. Balthazar, true to his word, helps the party and the Djarin fight off The Brotherhood of Burnination 's army sent to capture the child. The Child is brought to the Djarin encampment, and the party returns to Hadrianus .
