Gorl Forest

The Gorl Forest is a large birch forest located in the north of the central region of the Kingdom of Endor. The forest is to the northwest of Lakanaba and the southwest of Fort Johanna, and is bordered by the Red Rocks Bay and the roadway towards Varr Kazid.

Description

The forest is largely birch trees, with little to no underbrush in the hilly terrain. The leaves have a yellowish tint year round, and in autumn these leaves turn to a burnished gold color. With little underbrush, the leaves often pile together in large swathes. The name of the forest, Gorl, is for one of the dwarvish words for gold.   Numerous fauna inhabit the forest, which nearby peoples track and hunt. There are some beasts and monsters that inhabit forest dens as well, and most of the range of the forest is wild and uninhabited.   Though there are several towns and villages near to the forest, there is only one settlement within the borders of the forest: the beastfolk village of Gohled Teente.

History

The Fifth Age: The Age of Beginnings
Around 5A 050, the Tribe of the Golden Fur was allowed to settle in the Gorl Forest due to Petra D'Silva's influence and interactions with their leader at the time, Ipoohw of the Golden Fur.   Since that time, the ranging lands of the Tribe of the Golden Fur have grown wider as their population increased through the Fifth Age.
