Morounin, The Learned-Lady

The Dragon Goddess of Knowledge

Morounin, known by the title The Learned-Lady, is the Dragon Deity of Ignosia, the Plane of Knowledge.   Morounin is the patron of scholars and teachers. She is the holder of knowledge and the spreading of information to those who seek it. In the colleges and great libraries of the world, students and professors leave bells at elaborate shines. Craftsmen and prophets, too, give thanks for inspiration in their trades as they seek the knowledge to better their craft, and lawbringers seek her aid in rooting out truth and dissolving lies.   The knowledge of the Learned-Lady is housed in the Bellfries of Ignosia. These vast Libraries of Knowledge house information on all things since the emergence of the pantheon, tended to by her scribes.   As the keeper of knowledge, she is tied to Avianor, The Timefather, who creates the passage of time for history. She is opposed to Barduumus, The Battlelord, and Esturk, The World's End, who bring destruction in their wake.

History

The Second Age: The Age of the Severance

After the events of the Severance, the world of Azimuth was left without gods. However, so powerful were those entities that had occupied the divine realms, echoes of the gods remained. The people of Azimuth still prayed, and these echoes heard these calls. Flowering from the seeds left behind, new entities began to coalesce. In the Divine Planes, eight new beings were made, given form and function by the faiths of the mortal races and beasts. These eight, great figures of scale and wing and claw would be named the Dragons.
